My dinner experience at Ray Restaurant, Lovina, Bali ...
  • Ok, I know this is a super outdated post but could not miss to post this to share with you my holiday experience in Bali ...

Must be wondering why only I took one food picture only ... it was due to Dylan that he started to be cranky and got to take care him while the rest having their dinner first ...
Tegalalang Rice Terrace
  • My 3rd day in Bali is to visit the Tegalalang Rice Terrace ... thou it was me and yve second time to come here but it was first time experience for my parents-in-law and baby dylan to enjoy the rice terrace view.
Very cure carving rite ...is carved from coconut itself ...
  • Tegalalang village is famous with rice terrace, but now on the way go to tegalalang village both side of the road you find many shops with selling woodcarving.
  • The first example of Balinese landscape is the rice-field. This is a typical scene in Bali. The terraced rice-field is typical of the beauty of the Balinese countryside.

During the growth period of the rice, the fields are periodic flooded.


Wet rice agriculture (sawah) is the basic and most important activity of Balinese life; Rice is the major crop and the staple food.

Istana Bambu Restaurant @ Jalan Hulu Kelang, Ampang

A Padi-Field Concept Serving Live Seafood & Nusantara Cuisine ...
  • When I first arrived to this restaurant, my mouth was widely opened ' WOW' ... and wondering am I at the right restaurant ... should be I guess as the restaurant destination is Istana Bambu 'Bamboo Palace' and the area is made from bamboo.
  • I really did not know that KL have such a unique restaurant. Must be wondering what am I doing here ... of course for food but most important event is to celebrate CK Lam's birthday ... a famous celebrity food blogger from Penang. Together with me for the dinner is Sidney, Sidney's Mom, Sunny and Teo (CK's husband).

They have a small green pond at their restaurant ... lovely view ...

Here is my dining area in this small and cute little hut.


Long House dining area concept which can cater a large group of diners ... very good for company event who wish to organize an event at this place.


Oh yeah, before entering to the hut, need to remove your shoes cause you will be seating and eating the malay traditional way like in kampung 'village'.

Ooo la la...I can smell some charcoal burning from far ... guess will have some grilled seafood served ...

Nothing is made from plastic or metal ... purely from rotans and bamboos ...


Malay traditional music instrument ... ooops, what is it called? anyone got any idea ...

The main dining area ... guess what, it was fully packed when comes to dinner time at 7.30 - 8pm ...






Tables and chairs also made from bamboo rotans.


When I was a scout, I remember this knot and this rope ... but I can't recalled the name of the rope now.

Fragrant Coconut ... I have many of this ... sweet, fragrant and a refreshing drink ...

Here comes our Tomyam Seafood Soup ... when I see the soup colour, I know this will be a very good and tasty tomyam soup ... taste yummy indeed!




Lots of seafood and ingredients in it ... prawn ... my fav!


Dry Butter Prawns ... this is cooked in Nusantara way and I felt a bit similar to chinese cooking ... very delicious indeed ... love the strong butter smell soaked into the fresh prawn meat.

When this dish came, everyone was wondering what dish is it ... take your wild guess and see if you are correct before you read my answer ... it is actually Salted Egg Squid ... we love this sinful dish so much ... really crispy when you bite and love the taste of it.

For fresh seafood lovers , you might want to come and try their Hot & Spicy Chilli Crab ... totally awesome dish with its fresh crabs on the serving and love the hot & spicy sauce ... it is not that really spicy to me but just nice ....


Fried Hong Kong Kailan with Salted Fish ...


Stir-fried Dried Chilli Chicken with Cashew Nuts ... taste exclusively yummy ...


Fried Crispy Beef ... hohoho ... we all love this dish ... the beef is strongly flavoured and yes it was crispy indeed ... that's why this is the dish finish the fastest ...


One of their signature dish was the Deep Fried 3 taste Siakap Fish ... to me it was sweet, sour and spicy taste ... very unique flavour and dish indeed ... my first trying it.


Ikan Bakar ... delicious!


Coming at the end of our dinner ... we have a small cute little pink oink oink birthday cake made by Sunny to celebrate CK Lam's birthday ... she said no pics of her and doesn't want to reveal her actual candles ...
  • Oh yeah, if you are worried of mosquitoe bites when dine in this such environment ... FEAR NOT, cause we did not even got a single mosquito bite at all ...
  • I had a glorious dining experience at this Istana Bambu restaurant ... love the concept, food and environment a lot.

iPhone 4 in Malaysia

My first grasp of the iPhone 4 with micro simcard ...
  • Sorry for my late entry and replying back your comments. Totally busy with my work and no space to breath. Anyway, partly I am busy with my new iPhone 3Gs too ... I know I am outdated with iPhone 3Gs but it is my first free iPhone I got.
  • Anyway, back to iPhone 4 ... was playing and testing it and really love the graphic resolution ... super sharp like HD only.

  • The size is slimmer than the iPhone 3Gs and very stylish and looks very solid.

  • The only drawback of this iPhone 4 is the antenna receiver signaling which Apple is rectifying it ... problem is when u hold the phone, the network signal tend to drop cause of the antenna receiver is at the bottom and not at the top. Basically, your hand will cover the antenna receiver and block the network signalling.



Slimmer than iPhone 3Gs ...
  • Should I upgrade to iPhone 4? .... answer probably YES if I got the $$$$

  • In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan, Eccucino's culinary team presents menu with over fifty buffet items, menu changed daily, with a range of popular Malaysian dishes from various States and home-cooked "kampung" dishes.

  • The highlights on the buffet are - the famous Malay Hot selections such as Bubur Lambok which I never try before, selection of Kurma, Indian selections, Chinese selections, Western selections such as seafood on Ice, Japanese selections such as Teppanyaki Stall as well as the Dessert selections featuring the Cold Slab Ice Cream.
