Lunch with Chef Anton Mosimann @ The Club at The Saujana

A lunch with Chef Anton Mosimann which I will never forget in my life ....

  • I feel so excited when I was given the opportunity to have lunch @ The Club at The Saujana. I heard it is a very exclusive high-end boutique hotel which I wish to visit.
  • Not that just only, it is my most awesome dining experience in my life which I have the chance to taste the food specially cooked by Celebrity Chef Anton Mosimann who is a culinary genious and multiple winner of the Michelin Star.
  • Nice place to dine & stay and with perfect delicious food by Chef Anton, what else can I say more.

Nestled amidst 160 hectares of lush tropical gardens and surrounded by two 18-hole campionship golf courses, The Club at The Saujana is strategically located adjecent to the Saujana Hotel, is the city's finest and most luxurious boutique hotel - The Club at The Saujana.

  • The boutique resort offers 105 rooms and suites ranging from smartly appointed Club Rooms, Terrace Suite, Superior Suite, Deluxe Suite, and Executive Suite to the lavish Saujana Suite.

In 1988, Chef Mosimann established his own private dining club in the exclusivity of London's Belgravia known as the trademark Mosimann's. You can find more about Mosimann's @ London by clicking here. You be indulged and feel 'WOW' when you visited his site!

The Michellin-starred Chef extrodinare and restaurateur who has cooked for most of Europe's heads of state including te British Royal Family, four of British prime ministers and four US presidents will be is set to mesmerize all on culinary journey long to be remembered and cherished for me here at The Club at The Saujana.

The resort's architecture, interior and oustanding accomodation reflects a contemporary Asian style incroporating local design elements.

The walk-way entrance to The Club ...

Love this two huge beautiful vases standing at the lobby.

The Lounge serving a wide variety of refreshments, cocktails, light snacks and afternoon tea. The lounge is a calm way to relax and unwind. Agree?

I wish to have this wine display in my house one day ... what a beauty to display your wine collections, isn't it?

The internal dining area ... took before the patrons arrived.

The external dining area ... this is my place where I will choose to dine ... simply because I love the fresh air, the view, the weather, the sound of the water fountain and the peaceful-ness in here ...

Lunch peak hour ... it was full house!

I really love the art work hanged and display in The Club ... seriously enjoy looking and appreciate it.

The wine glasses prepared and ready for my dining table ...

The dining table setup ... perfectly arranged for the wine pairing lunch.

Can see Chef Mosimann is busy preparing the meal for me ...

Anton's Bread ... love the fresh baked bread ...

Ate lots of the warm bread ... very delicious and nice to go with the special made butter. YUMMY!

Fine Dining Waters - Acqua Panna & S.Pellegrino
  • The source of Acqua Panna still mineral water is located at the famous Villa Panna in the hills of Tuscany. Acqua Panna has a soft, light and perfectly balanced taste which provides a long lasting sensation of smooth refreshment. It is limpid and luminous and carries few mineral salts, without impairing its structure. Acqua Panna is truly a "Water that belongs on the wine list".
  • S.Pellegrino sparkling mineral water flows from the thermal spring in the foothills of the Italian Alps. Its tingling freshness and moderate acidity leaves a pleasing sensation of fragrant freshness. S.Pellegrino is known to be the "Best companion on the dining table".

For the first dish, this is the best pairing to go with it~ Nicolas Feuillatte "Reserve Particuliere" NV, A light golden colour, the nose is dominated by pear, apple, foral notes and nutty nuances. The palate is balance, elegant, the lovely fruit flavours supported by a smooth textural feel and a fine, lingering finish.

The first dish by Chef Anton, Amuse Bouche ... it is a little flavorful bite to amuse your palate, a French term pronounced "uh-MYUZ-boosh" ... simple understanding term is to please your mouth. It is served as a tiny bite of food before meal to tease appetite.

The inside of the Amuse Bouche ...

My second wine pairing for the following dish is this Leeuwin Estate "Art Series" Sauvignon Blanc 2008 - a refreshingly crisp white wine that offers citrus and tropical fruit flavors with very aromatic notes of green chilies, grass, herbs, asparagus and gooseberries commonly contributing to the bouquet. Sauvignon Blanc is generally unaoked allowing the fruit to shine and highlighting the delicacy of the grape.

The second dish served at our table was the Warm Duck Salad

I love the crispiness of the duck skin ...

I really admire Chef Anton finishing style ...

The Leeuwin Estate "Prelude" Chardonnay 2006 made a perfect pairing for my next meal -Risotto Al Funghi. The "Prelude" was medium straw-colored, it offers up an alluring bouquet of buttered toast, spiced apple, and tropical notes. Crisp and refreshing on the palate, it has superior depth, ripe flavors of pineapple and mango, and a lengthy, fruit filled finish.

Before I ate it, I did smell the fragrant of this Risotto from far, I love the smell of the cheese and mushroom blended together well and makes you want to have a bite fast ... Introducing you the Risotto Al Funghi by Chef Anton.

Perfectly cooked Risotto and love the thick cheesie gravy ... and of course the mushrooms!

Leeuwin Estate "Art Series" Chardonnay 2006 - is one of the very greatest vintages of one of Australia's top Chardonnays ever made. On a world scale, this is as good as Chardonnay ever gets anywhere outside of Burgundy. It strikes the quintessential balance between control and concentration, power and finesse. Perfect wine to pair with my next dish - Steamed Fillet of Sea Bass.

Steamed Fillet of Sea Bass, Sauce Vierge.

The best Sea Bass I ever had in my life ... thanks Chef Anton for opening my taste bud to a next level ...

Love the freshness of the Sea Bass meat ... soft and tender.

Next we were served with the Italian Roasted Coffee ...

Took two sugar cubes for my Italian coffee ... love the aroma of the coffee ... very strong coffee taste indeed.

The Anton's Bread and Butter Pudding

Torbreck "The Bothie" 2009 paired with my dessert~ Passion Fruite Souffle - The Bothie typically displays lifted aromas of rose water, honeydew melon, lime and geranium. It's a very versatile wine that can be enjoyed either at the start of a meal or nicely chilled at the end with fresh fruit, ice creams or sorbets.

I totally enjoyed and love this sourish Passion Fruite Souffle

I ate this first as it was cold and refreshing ...

It was like a 'Yin & Yang' taste to me ... cold and hot ... perfect dessert to end with.

After Chef Anton finished his cook and servings to us, he joined our table to have a chat with us. CK Lam, Teo (CK's husband), Sidney, Sunny and myself really had a great time chatting with the humble and friendly Chef Anton.
  • Having worked throughout Europe, Canada, the Far East and Japan, he came to London and at the age of 28 was appointed the Maitre Chef des Cuisines of the Dorchester, the youngest ever to hold such a prestigious position. It was here during his 13 years tenure that people started recognising his culinary expertise as he went n to receive 2 Stars in the Michelin Guide.

Born in the Swiss-Jura mountains, he was the culinary genious and purist of natural cooking. Chef Mosimann's popularity soared in the 90's with the production of two television series, "Cooking with Mosimann" and "Anton Mosimann - Naturally", the latter was transmitted internationally and achieved a total viewship of 14.9million.

Took a photo with Chef Anton Mosimann. I must really say thank you to him for the dishes preapred for us and he really did show me the true taste of the food by his culinary skill.

A personal signed autograph to me by Chef Anton Mosimann ... will frame it up!

Took a picture with his cook hat ...

Time to leave and not to take too much of Chef Anton time. He had an interview with Astro after the lunch.
  • Thanks to The Club at The Saujana and Chef Anton Mosimann for the wonderful lunch. I truly enjoy the lunch a lot.

Your friend posted on this outing too - he dropped by my blog. His post a lot of the photos of the black candlesticks. I said they remind me of a funeral parlour...but thankfully, can hardly notice them in your photos.
