Posh Japanese Cuisine at Kuriya Japanese Restaurant @ Bangsar Shopping Centre

Expensive yet delicious Japanese food ...
  • Can't deny that me and yve are a simple Jap food lovers. We came across this Japanese restaurant last time when we attended a dinner at The Ming Room @ Bangsar Shopping Complex Mall. We saw many people dine at this restaurant and thinking the food should be real good.
  • We gave it a try and here is my review ....

Kuriya is located at the top floor of the newly renovated BSC (Bangsar Shopping Centre) and the ambience is modern chic. Surely a good place to impress your loved one.
  • We walked in and were greeted warmly by the staff. Like what they say: a true measurement if a Japanese retaurant is good is if you see many Japanese locals frequenting the joint. True enough, I saw a number of them while I was eating there. So it's safe to say this is an authentic Jap place.

  • The master chef, Mr Ikeda’s unique creations range from authentic to fusion. Fresh seasonal ingredients are air-flown from Japan.
  • Note: They do not allow flash photography!

Kuriya means ‘aristocratic kitchen’ in Japanese. Found only in homes of the noble class, it is the place where dishes are prepared for important guests.

I love this Samurai Armor suit placed in front of their entrance ...

I love this Japanese art

A small complimentary welcome dish by the restaurant - fish grilled meat ... very nice and yummy.

Salmon Belly Sushi (RM 4.80 a piece) ... worth a try despite the price for a single sushi.

Tekka Temaki

Tempura Soba - Buckwheat noodles with assorted tempura

Assorted Tempura - Fried freshly and very crispy ...

Unagi Ishiyaki - love the Unagi meat a lot....it melts when you swallow into your mouth.

  • To dine in this posh Japanese restaurant, be prepared for a 3 to 4 figure bill. What I can say, it is worth a try for once in your lifetime.
