My first Elephant Ride and Flora shots @ Krabi

My last posting about my Krabi trip ...

  • Finally comes to the end of my Krabi trip posting ...
  • This post is so outdated as got many upcoming new post ... better start to clear off my 2009 blog postings fast ...

  • Many uniques and nice flowers to take ... gosh, how nice if I have my DSLR dat time ...

Elephant Ride adventure ...
  • THE elephant is seen as a symbol of the nation and a talisman for the Thai people. With their wrinkly grey skin and swaying trunk, they are a fascinating combination of brute force, gentleness and remarkable agility that inspires both respect and affection.
With elephants fast disappearing from the wild in Thailand, the best place to see these fascinating animals up close is in a trekking camp.
  • There are only a few camps in Krabi - such establishments must follow strict guidelines as set by the National Livestock Department regarding the provision of adequate food, water and shade for their animals, as well as proper health care.

  • A trek will allow you to experience this first-hand, as well as the animals' natural forest environment. Carrying tourists for fun means the elephants are able to earn their keep, while living as freely as is possible: as there is not enough space to release them into the wild, and they are very costly to feed (eating up 2-300kg of food per day) the only alternatives for these gentle giants are begging, illegal logging, or inactivity in a zoo.
  • I did give some money to the elephant during the elephant show as a charity and hope that their welfare are kept well for their survival.

  • Sitting on top of the buffalo was a great experience ... damn, their hair is so spiky and their skin is real tough ...

  • Ox cart ride is very thrilling going thru the bumps ...
  • Me and yve saw the ox pissing down on the floor and it is like my toilet water tap flowing down very fast!

  • I truly enjoy to watch the elephant and monkey show ...
  • Really amazed by the elephants performance ...

  • I gave elephant a tip when he came and collect 500 baht with his trunk ...

  • Till then ... not sure when I am able to go for next holiday trip again ... truly enjoy my Krabi trip very much ...
  • Wat I can say is cheap, nice and GOOD!

The elephant ride is very similar to the one I tried when I visited Phuket. Guess they have the same thing over there too! :)

I only tried riding a bullcart. Not even on tthe bull itself. And i did that in Malacca. Dang stinky man... But i believe elephants are much cleaner than them since they have such sensitive skin
